My favorite author, C.S. Lewis, wrote: "Not that I am (I think) in nuch danger of ceasing to believe in God. The real danger is of coming to believe such dreadful things about Him. The conclusion I dread is not 'So there's no God after all,' but 'So this is what God's really like."
Any one who has gone through a tragedy can relate to this statement. When Catherine was very sick, I had to remind myself daily, sometimes hourly, that God had a reason for everything that occurs.
