Remain in Me

Jesus tells us to "remain" in Him.  Angela Thomas makes a wonderful analogy to a guest at our home.  When a friend comes to my house, they do not stay at the door.  Or even in my foyer.  I invite guests in to my home.  All the way in.  And I want them to stay awhile; not just a few minutes.

Jesus is the same way.  He doesn't just want to introduce Himself to us.  He doesn't want us to proverbially shake His hand, then walk off.  He wants us us to spend time with Him.  To get to know Him.  Jesus does not want a casual, shallow relationship with us.  He wants to be so important to us that we treasure time with Him.  That we remain in Him.

This post was inspired by the book "Tender Mercy for a Mother's Soul" by Angela Thomas.
