Spiritual Winter

Lucado describes this time period in Israel's history as "Three centuries of spiritual winter had frozen people's faith." Corruption, immorality. etc. Then God sent Samuel to the little town of Bethlehem. Samuel picks Jesse's youngest son David.

Lucado writes that David was chosen by God because he had a God-seeking heart. That's a trait that we humans would likely not notice. We look for degrees, skills, talents, assets, muscles, etc. How often do we look inside a person's heart? Is it fair for us to attempt to look inside someone's heart? Can we accurately do so?
