Prayer Partners

McHenry writes about having a partner prayerwalk with you. She has had some friends who wanted to talk their prayers together. McHenry prefers to pray silently and not speak with anyone while walking. She has struggled with attaining the right balance with friends whom she wanted to walk with.

She writes of the benefits of having a partner: accountability, safety, perspective, companionship. None of these benefits are surprising. I have always benefited from sharing my prayer life with a partner. Of course many times it does not lead to the accountability I desire because one or both of us loses interest and drops out of the process. But, when we both maintain interest and challenge each other, it is very helpful. I have gained a lot of perspective from friends.
