The Dragon of "What If?"

Miller writes of the "dragon" of "What if?"  You know the questions:

What if I lose my job?  What if my car dies?  What if it's malignant?  What if he doesn't call?  What if he does?  What if he's having an affair?  What if my AC goes out?  What if my child fails this grade?  What if my child throws a temper tantrum at the store?

All of these show the same underlying issue: a lack of trust in God.  I have said it before and I know it sounds simplistic.  But, it is such a hard concept.  All worrying shows a lack of trust in God.  We have to swallow all of our "what if's" and replace that thought with "whatever, God has it under control."

This post is inspired by the book Into the Depths of God by Calvin Miller.
